Studio City Hills
Serenity, privacy, hiking, great views
Studio City Hills (or Studio Hills) is a quiet, hillside area in the coveted "South of the Boulevard" section of Studio City, California, just south of Ventura Blvd. The Hills stretch up the Valley side of the Santa Monica Mountains toward Mulholland Drive and the Hollywood Hills, and include popular Studio City neighborhoods likes Fryman Estates, The Donas, Wrightwood Estates, and the Silver Triangle.
(On the north side of Ventura Blvd. are the Studio City "Flats," also highly prized Studio City neighborhoods, which include Colfax Meadows, Beeman Park, Footbridge Square, and Woodbridge Park / Tujunga Village.)
The Studio Hills are ideally located between the hip, eclectic shops and restaurants of Ventura Blvd. and the popular hiking, dog-walking and horseback-riding trails of Fryman Canyon and Wilacre Park. Studio Hills homes are prized for their amazing views of the San Fernando Valley, views that can reach, on a clear day, all the way the Santa Clarita Valley mountains.
The street boundaries (roughly) are Laurel Canyon to the west, Vineland to the East, Ventura to the North, and Amanda Drive to the South. Most of the homes in the Studio Hills fall within the boundaries of the awarding winning and highly sought after Carpenter School District.
The Hills of Studio City were recently reported as one of the safest neighborhoods in the entire U.S. There is a wide selection of homes, from stately mansions in the hills off Mulholland Drive to apartments to classic San Fernando Valley "ranch homes" to Mid-Century classics and unique, architectural masterpieces. Famed architect Robert Schindler designed several homes in Studio City Hills in the mid-1940s, and there are many celebrity estates on large lots tucked away throughout the Hills.
Entertainment celebrities love Studio City Hills because it is removed enough from the hustle and bustle of the city to provide serenity and privacy, but close enough to get wherever they need to go—movie studios, Burbank, Beverly Hills, the West Side—in decent time, depending on traffic.
Most of the homes in the Studio Hills fall within the boundaries of the awarding-winning and highly sought after Carpenter Community School District, though the area boasts many other highly rated schools as well, both public and private.
