Woodbridge Park - Tujunga Village
Eclectic shops, casual elegance, lovely homes
Tujunga Village in Studio City is a small (only one block long) but adorable street of fanciful boutiques and clothing shops, coffee bars and dessert shops between Moorpark Street on the north and Woodbridge Street on the south. Nestled between Colfax Meadows on the west and the Woodbridge Park neighborhood on the east, the Village is in walking distance to bustling Ventura Boulevard to the south, yet feels like a world apart, an elegant, leisurely retail retreat far from the madding crowd.
This charming street of mom-and-pop shops recalls a simpler time, but don't be fooled—the boutiques and gourmet offerings are quite sophisticated. Aroma Coffee and Tea Company is Tujunga Village's main gathering spot, an eclectic bungalow turned bookstore, coffee bar, and full-service restaurant, with an outdoor patio where celebrities and locals can enjoy a gourmet lunch in dappled sunlight. Afterwards, you can top off the afternoon at the nearby Gelato Bar and Espresso Caffe. Elizabeth's Place is another community fixture, set in a 1940's family home filled with antique furniture and accessories. Swag is a relative newcomer to the retail scene, offering a unique, shabby-chic selection of furniture, housewares, jewelry and more.
The adjacent neighborhood known as Woodbridge Park is located immediately east of Tujunga Village and is named for a pocket park to the east, Woodbridge Park, which is next to the prestigious private school Oakwood. Shaded, tree-lined streets and curvy roads with adorable houses make up this wonderful neighborhood, which is bordered by Moorpark on the north, Tujunga Avenue on the west, Fair Avenue on the east and the Los Angeles River on the south.
And be sure not to miss the house whose exterior was used as The Brady Bunch home, located near the L.A. River at 11222 Dilling Street.
